Campers practice riding in
daily lessons in the arena
Camper Grouping
Campers’ skills are evaluated on the first
day of camp and they placed into lesson
groups based on their riding ability with
other riders with similar skills and
experience. Our qualified staff provides
safe, fun and challenging instruction
tailored to campers’ confidence and ability
level. We offer instruction for beginner
riders.
Staff
We pride ourselves in the
quality of our all-adult staff. Every
member of our riding staff is selected for
their experience both as a youth leader and
as a riding instructor. All staff
participate in a week long training before
camp starts and are CPR and 1st
Aid trained and certified. Our senior
riding staff are Certified Horsemanship
Association instructors.
Our 50 Horses
Our camp horses were
selected for their patient and gentle
dispositions. With the largest herd of camp
horses in the Bay Area, we guarantee that
every camper will find a horse that they can
love and learn from.
Hello Horse Camp Safety
Information
Staff Safety
Qualifications
The health and safety of
each camper is the
primary concern of each
staff member.
Supervision of the
campers by staff is
ALWAYS constant. All
staff members receive
extensive safety and
health training during
staff training each
year. All staff members
possess both American
Red Cross First Aid and
CPR certifications.
Senior horseback riding
instructors are
currently certified
instructors with the
Certified Horsemanship
Association. We provide
the very best possible
training and
certifications to its
staff.
Rider Safety
All
campers complete a horse
safety orientation
before riding and wear
ASTM/SEI
certified helmets during
all riding activities.
Helmets are provided for
campers. Our saddles
are equipped with covers
over the stirrups to
prevent a rider’s foot
from slipping through.
All riders must wear
long pants and
closed-toe shoes.
Emergency Services
We have two medical
doctors on call to
provide consultation and
medical services to our
campers. We also make
annual arrangements with
local paramedics and
emergency services to
provide support to our
staff.
We are Partners with
Parents
We encourage and promote
communication with
parents. During camp
parents are encouraged
to call with any
questions or concerns or
to speak with any of
their child's
counselors.
