Awards - Multiple Chances to Win

Donations will be given to the schools with most participation.  We currently offer prizes for first through fifth place, in the following amounts:

• First place         $1,000
• Second place    $750
• Third place        $500
• Fourth place      $250
• Fifth place         $100

School will receive their donation awards at the beginning of the following school year.

Registration - Simple, One Step Process

Schools can register for the contest by completing our School Registration Form. We accept registration from teachers, school employees, and PTA representatives.

Promotional Actions - How to Get Families Involved!

Schools are required to complete a minimum of one or more of the following promotional actions to qualify for a donation.  We recommend completing more than one action to maximize contest participation.

• Flyer Distribution to All School Families.  Send the Roughing It Family of Camps flyer home to all student families in the weekly school folder.  Roughing It will provide the flyers or you may email a PDF flyer to each family.
• Newsletter Article or Announcement. Place an ad or newsletter article fully describing the contest in the school newsletter (print or email) and a link to the contest webpage.
• Website Links to Roughing It & the Contest on Your School Website.  Place a link to the contest website and to Roughing It on your school website.

Additional Ways to Maximize Participation

The possibilities for promoting the contest are endless!  Here are some additional ideas you might want to consider:

• Display a Contest Banner. Display a contest banner (provided by Roughing It) in a prominent display area.
• Host a Roughing It Camp Show at Your School. Roughing It would be glad to send a speaker to your school to conduct an informational meeting about our camps.
• School Event Participation. Roughing It is happy to participate in school carnivals, events, field days, fund raisers and other events.

Bonus Award for Schools with Over 100 Participants

If your school participates in the competition and has at least 100 entries, we will hold an additional drawing just for those families entered from your school. One student at your school will win a week of Acteeva Day Camp or a $375 camp tuition discount for any Roughing It camp. 

Minimum Participation

Schools must have at least 25 entries in the contest to qualify for a donation.

Right to Change Contest Rules & Procedures

Roughing It Day Camp reserves the right to change the rules, conditions, policies, or cancel this contest at any time.
